Ebay Affiliate Program

Question: How does the ebay affiliate program works?

I saw on the eBay web site at eBay.com that they have an affiliate program where you can sign up, add code to your web site and let people buy items from eBay by clicking through to eBay from your link. Affiliates are then paid a percentage of sales through eBay. But what I don' t understand is where the money for the payments comes from. I emailed eBay.com and asked them how do sellers tap into the affilaite program but they say that sellers don't sell items on eBay through affiliates. I just don't get it. I need the information for a book I'm currently working on about making money online. eBay claim that they have the highest earning affiliate program on the web. But who pay the affiliates?

Ebays affiliate program really stinks. the pay is really low and hardly worth the effort. they may claim to have the highest earnings, but heck, almost anyone can say that. ceratinly, they have some big affiliates, as any company of their size will have, but very few will rise to the level of the few. as far as the pay, it comes directly from ebays pocket. A neat way to drive traffic to their site for pennies on the dollar. obviously, they are making bank already, and this is just another way to drive traffic. for more info, see pages.ebay.com/ help/ sell/ affiliate-program.html you may find a much better program to promote and write about at redneckgurus.com . they are free and offer superb info.

Till now ebay was partnered with commission junction for their affiliate program but now they are independent and pay people if anyone signups or buys through their affiliate links. You can check the source link for more info.

My wife and I are participating in this affiliate program. Since eBay charges to list your item, the affiliate program takes anywhere from 50% to 75% of eBay's earnings on a sale and puts them in the affiliates pocket. It is a good program. If you can find a good niche, it can definitely make you some good money. We have a post on our blog about our eBay affiliate experience so far.
